When I was about eleven years old I visited Ewweny Pottery and saw the potter throwing. I was enthralled and the memory stayed with me. When I went to Teacher Training College and found pottery was an option I was there! I find great satisfaction in creating objects for everyday use.Using hand made vessels is very pleasing. I like the rituals we build up around everyday objects. Choosing a mug to fit our mood, warming the tea pot before making a fresh pot of tea. Alongside these everyday domestic wares I enjoy making pots for high days and holidays. Think of the plate stand for special cakes and tureens to bring out for visitors. Slipware has a great history of being used to serve, present and contain food. For me it's the perfect vehicle for making domestic ware
